It's usually best to pair two different tones of blue. In my outfit, I chose a medium denim and a light denim, which is expressed in my jeans! The dark denim in my jeans helped to bring in the colors of the jacket.
I also wore a floral flannel (any print will do!) underneath to tone down the amount of denim. A basic colored top, such as the black one that I wore, is perfect to balance out the look.
Lately, the popular thing to do is rock your denim with some patches and pins! You can purchase some awesome pins off of Etsy to deck out some old jeans in your closet. There are so many personalizing options. You can even distress the denim yourself (video below) for some refreshment in your wardrobe.
Another popular option is to wear a chambray top with a thicker denim bottom. Kylie Jenner knows how to kill this look. The slight difference in tones between her button up top and her embroidered skirt compliment each other well, as well as the minor difference in textures.
Everyone has the same question. Is it fully acceptable to double up on the denim? And if so, how do you do it?
Denim on denim can definitely be done, so grab that jacket of yours and your fave pair of jeans and learn some tips and tricks with some inspiration!
I finalized the outfit with a red bandana around my neck. The colors of red and blue look incredible against each other! Throw one on or wear a pop of red lipstick like Rihanna.
Now take out those old Levi's items and kick 'em up a notch!
